You've Got Tools. Now Get Results
You’ve got the tools—a lead magnet, email list, maybe even a welcome sequence or a few social posts. You’ve been showing up and doing the work.
But the results? Inconsistent.
Here’s what I didn't realize. Having marketing tools is not the same as having a campaign.
I was inconsistent. I sent out welcome emails but there was no followup to help my clients onboard. I sent out networking followups but there was no "next" to continue the conversation. i event created several value-based lead magnets but still I wasn't seeing traction. The issue wasn't effort—it’s structure.
Tool Overload Without a Strategy
Like most growth-stage entrepreneurs and service-based business owners I gathered marketing tools over time: a landing page here, a Mailchimp list there, a Survey Monkey assessment, a Canva-designed freebie. But when these tools were not connected by a clear, strategic flow designed for a specific audience, and as a result they became just a collection of assets—not a revenue-driving system.
I realized that what I was missing was an organized structure. I had delivered many marketing campaigns in my corporate career. Now it was time to use those same tactics in my business--just like Big Business. A campaign brings those tools to life. It’s the structure that turning my several lead magnets into a conversation, my emails into trust builders, and my offers into easy “yes” moments for the right people.
The Missing Link: The Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
I cannot say this enough. If you've been following me for any length of time you know my stance on the Ideal Customer Profile. You can’t build an effective campaign without knowing exactly who you’re trying to reach. But let's be for real, exactly is not a point in time, it is a journey so I take my best shot at a moment of time and that is "exact" enough. As I have conitnued to evolve, so has my ICP but the key is to have one. It is my best understanding of my customer in this moment.
The ICP gives me the insight to:
Craft messaging that resonates
Choose the right format and delivery methods
Set realistic goals and measure what matters
As I continue to discover more and more about my ICP and create a deeper understanding of my ideal customer, my tools are becoming more than “nice to have.” They are becoming more powerful, purposeful with each release.
One Campaign > Ten Tactics
Instead of trying to juggle multiple disconnected efforts, what I am now focused on is building one simple, streamlined campaign tailored to my ideal customer?
With the right strategy in place:
My lead magnet speaks to a real need (save 5-10 hours each week)
My emails build a relationship by sharing ideas, challenges and success stories.
My follow-ups guide the next step (i.e., free Clarity Connect Chat)
And my data will tell me what’s working (and what’s not)
No need for complexity—just clarity.
